Labor day weekend edition as the summer is officially coming to an end.  Kids are going back to school (thankfully I’m sure many parents are thinking) and others are finishing up vacation plans as the summer winds down.  The summer started off a little off with the weather but quickly picked up and from speaking to a lot of different people it seemed like everyone took advantage of the weather.  A lot of fun can be done, as well as money being saved on some fun frugal activities.  I want to hear how everyone is winding down the summer and what exciting holiday weekend plans you have.  If you are a college football freak like me, then you have been waiting for Saturday to come for awhile.  If you don’t have a team, help support my Penn State this weekend.  Here are some great articles from around the personal finance community.

Thanks for the mention! It seems like I missed summer this year… we stayed indoors most of the time because our newborn was too young to take anywhere…. we did take a lot of walks when it cooled off in the evening, but we didn’t leave the neighborhood very often!

I am looking forward to football season though. :)

@Patrick I don’t think you missed summer so to speak, just enjoyed it in a different way with your newborn which is amazing. Get him all ready for next summer so he can enjoy the outdoors and cause some trouble on the playground.
