There are many different advancements within technology that could see changes over the years, including how we as people shop. Within the years and thanks to technology you see more and more people doing online shopping in order to shop smart. Amazon, since introducing Amazon Prime with the feature of free shipping, was a huge hit and now Amazon is testing drones to deliver to both home and office. This goes hand-in-hand with 3D printing, driver-less trucks, and automated warehouses.
- 3D printing isn’t something that is new in all reality, but rather, something that hasn’t fully taken off yet when it comes to shopping. There are 3D printers and classes that teach people how to 3D print, which can range between $250 – $2,500 give or take.
- Google has presented cars become self-driving in 2015, and hope to see available cars to the public in 2020. The benefits are out of this world with trucks being able to move for 24 hours a day, delivery of products becoming faster, savings with labor costs and overall better pricing for online shoppers.
- With Amazon already using thousands of robot platforms in order to control their inventory items and speed up the time between when an order is on the truck and when the order is received, it makes sense that this idea would take off. This allows Amazon to cut the storage costs, save money without needing the labor, and the customer receives a quick and speedy purchased item.
