Did you know that counterfeit money is often detected because it’s too perfect?

It’s not worth taking chances passing fake bills but what if you need money fast? Let’s look at 5 things you can sell to make money today.

1. Books

Books are a great item to sell if you need to make quick cash. They never become obsolete, there’s always a market for them, and there are many places you can sell them.

You can list used books on Amazon and even ship them to Amazon so they can ship them to your buyers for you. eBay and Craiglist are a couple of other places to sell books online.

Or try a local used bookstore. Many of them buy used books to add to their inventory.

2. Gift Cards

Gift cards are as good as cash so they hold their value well. If you have cards that still have a balance on them, you can sell them for as much as their face value.

Sell them to people you know or use a website like Cardpool.com to find a buyer.

3. Toys

Toys are also good things to sell to make money. A lot of kids outgrow their toys before they wear them out and another family can get plenty of use out of them.

And if you have old toys from your own childhood, some of them might be collectibles that are worth quite a bit. You can get a good idea of their value by searching eBay for previous listings that sold.

4. Cars

If you’re in need of a larger amount of cash on short notice, it might be worth considering selling your car. You’ll probably get more for it than most of the other items on this list.

You don’t necessarily have to sell it either. You could consider selling advertising space to a local company. Companies will pay several hundred per month to put a wrap on local vehicles advertising their business.

A title loan can help generate quick cash from your car without having to give it up as well.

5. Knowledge

Almost everybody has knowledge that would be useful to someone else and there are several ways you can make money from what you know.

You can tutor local high school or university students who are taking courses on a subject you’re an expert in. If you studied a subject in school or work in an industry that has specialized knowledge, you likely have the skills to help someone just starting out.

Or get a part-time job as a night-school teacher and share your knowledge with others that way.

You can also sell your knowledge online. Write an ebook, record an audio training, or put together a video course on websites like Thinkific and Teachable.

It’s Not as Hard to Make Money Today as Most People Think

When you’re in a tight spot financially, it can be stressful but it’s not that hard to make money today. You might not become a millionaire overnight but if you need some quick cash to pay an unexpected bill or to take advantage of a limited-time opportunity, these 5 items are a good way to do it.
